19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard courts

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the US Open.

His varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in particular - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former trainer Cervara.

Now collaborating with his coach and his other coach, he has gradually progressed in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's first trophy following the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court after spring of that year.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has won 21 victories at 21 various tournaments.

"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my children together, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

His counter-punching play style and regular outbursts on the tennis court had caused observers to question if his skill to play at the highest level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, attempting to advance forward and compete positively, supported by an better service.

He fought back from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five points to go ahead.

Both players swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional victory, took control to create a final set.

Moutet saved four early chances in a close final set before the champion broke to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, the winner clinched the title with a rally at the net area, with his opponent failing to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
